York PA Children's Photographer {Fairy Princess Session}

This whole session was a labor of love from me for my daughter! Sophia was very excited when she became a fairy and I was determined to make this session fun for her. I had a client who wanted a session by water, so the search was on for a location near water! I went a couple times time to this creek to practice with the lighting and Sophia was eager to be my subject. I took fairy wings with us each time and it really worked with the whole concept. These fun and creative sessions are perfect for Mom and Dads who want to use photo prints in their child's room because we can plan a session around what they like. Sophia loves fairies and is obsessed with Tinkerbell.

York PA Children's Photographer {Back to School Session}

Oh gosh, I don't think anything really prepares you for your child's next big milestone. I feel like my kid needs me less and less and is not a baby anymore. It is bittersweet for sure. But, I have never seen Sophia so excited to go to school. I am so glad she loves to go and it sounds like everyone is learning and having fun. Her class had a "Happy New Year" party on Friday, I mean how cool is that!? Last night was Open House night at school and Sophia took me all around her school to say hello to her old teachers, and the music teacher. She is so excited and proud. She marched right to her classroom and said "Mom, look, did you see that picture of me" when we watched a slideshow of pictures from the first week of school!

  I decided that in August we would go out a couple times, just to take a few pictures for "back to school" and it turned into something completely awesome because I have lots to chose from! Also these are great for my portfolio and a nice opportunity to show off some different ideas that bounced around my head for the beginning of school excitement. As a family and children's photographer I thought maybe one day I could start offering back to school mini sessions but for now I am not sure! I hope you all really like these. Sophia is a second grader now! It goes way too fast!!

I found this image tonight and it broke my heart. But, I thought I would show it for comparison. She was five!

And NOW, ugh :( Who told her to get so big! I have flashes of the future here years from now when she is a Senior in H.S. Make it stop, lol!

I was lucky enough to use this sunflower field once before it was gone!

A few weeks ago we went to a tiny park in Manchester and I brought these props. I'd say she poses well doesn't she?

And the session wouldn't be complete without a stop at the school!

Finally the first day! We went shopping the night before and she loved this backpack so we bought it. She was so excited to walk to school!

Family Photographer (Wildflower field in Lititz PA)

Thank you for visiting the blog today! I have some very pretty images from when we went to the Wildflower field in Lititiz, PA this summer! We have gone to this field for three years and I love it every single time! As a family photographer I try to scout out locations and pretty spots for my photography. I took tons of pictures that one amazing evening in July!

Two years ago the flower field had these gorgeous pink poppies, check out my photos from that visit in 2016!

York PA Children's Photographer- Trip to Barefoot Farm in Dover PA

Hi guys! Sorry it has been a few weeks since updating the blog. I am just catching up from my June photos. This summer we took a trip to Barefoot Farm in Dover PA where my children and I had a really enjoyable time picking strawberries and eating ice cream! We went three years ago and I photographed our time there as well. It's just such a nice place to unwind if you want to get away and breathe some country air! One day I would LOVE to run an ice cream shop somewhere like this, open to the public with a playground nearby. I hope you all love these images. Click here to see photos from our trip three years ago!  Farm trip from 2015

So I wanted to begin saying that Sophia has really taken an interest in photography. I am teaching her how to compose a shot, move the focus points and now she has figured out that changing the shutter speed changes how much light goes into the lens. Nearly every time I have my camera out she is trying to steal it from me! I will tell you which pictures she took at Barefoot Farm....

The farm has an adorable home on the land, and as you drive up you will see the store on the opposite side.

I love the blue sky here....They just love running like all kids do and this was a perfect setting for that!

My daughter took this one! Are you surprised? I was impressed that it turned out so well and was so sharp.

And Sophia also took this. She said it was very cool that what she saw in real life was what showed up on the camera after she took the photo.

Um the best part of the trip!

That tire swing was tons of fun. My kids want a big tree with a tire swing.

My favorite image from this whole set. It screams childhood!

Had to take this again, lol!

Children's Photographer in York PA {July 4th mini session}

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a nice day today! I am stopping by my blog tonight to post about the July 4th pictures that I took of my kids two weeks ago! I try to take a unique photo of my kids for each Holiday. It's just a fun way to play around with some ideas, in the event I ever decide to do the same types of pictures for clients. This is my way of rehearsing and learning what works and what I need to improve on! My children are good cooperative models for me!

So, for this year's July 4th mini session, I took my kids to John Rudy Park for some "fancy" pictures of them. Since it was hot out, I went with the popsicle idea... it was a good idea in theory because the popsicles are red, white and blue.... One thing I learned, no- TWO things that learned that day...my popsicles were really small and melted almost right away.  I should have bought the kind of pops that are like two pops stuck together with two sticks, if that makes sense. They melted really fast and the color disappeared. If I had to do it again, I would definitely have had my husband come with me and hand them the pops once I was ready to take the photos instead of handing them their pops and running back to set up my camera settings..... I tried to get the kids to stop eating them when the red color disappeared but they just looked at me like I couldn't be serious, haha!

This was last year's July 4th image from me.........I still love it! Oh my goodness, he is wearing the same shirt in this year's photos!

This year. Sophia and I hopped out of the car and I took this one! I had to snap one with those pretty flowers behind her.
