Family Photographer in York PA {Session at John Rudy Park}

Hi there, and thank you for stopping in to view my latest blog post! Today I would love to show you the images from my most recent family session! I met Johanna last year when she joined the Moms Club of York. She and I see one another a lot at mommy and me events! I was so excited when Johanna and Josh wanted me to take their family portraits. Their little girl Melanie is so cute too! I hope you all love these photos. They were taken at John Rudy Park, one of my favorite places to photograph families and children. I try to find beautiful locations for my sessions and I am never disappointed with how my images look when I use this park setting! I hope that you all love these! Have an incredible week!

We got a nice variety of family portraits! The garden at John Rudy is a beautiful setting for photographs.

Father's Day portraits {photographer in York, PA}

I am hoping that everyone is having a great week! We celebrated my husband's 38th birthday on Saturday and luckily we had tons of cake left over for Father's Day. The weekend went very well and Dad seemed very happy! I really love taking pictures on particular days of the year...Christmas, birthdays, first and last days of school, for example. Sometimes my husband even lets me take pictures of him too! It is nice that I can provide my family members with photos. I get immense joy out of taking pictures and seeing a final product that I worked very hard to achieve! 

Three years ago....three! oh gosh. This was when I began my personal "Father's Day mini session" for my husband. The kids were tiny!

This year we went to John Rudy Park to take my husband's Father's Day photos. I meet a lot of my clients there for sessions. Notice that the kids are so much bigger!

They are just a bunch of goofballs!

Children's photo shoot at John Rudy Park- York PA Photographer

One of the more enjoyable aspects of photography that I have enjoyed is getting the chance to play around with light! One night last week we had a storm roll in.... I love thunderstorms! My daughter had to go to bed so she stayed home with my husband and my son Ryan and I went to John Rudy Park to walk around for a bit. We arrived at the park around 7:50 pm and the sun was already behind the trees at that point. The light wasn't my ideal because I felt like some spots were so flat but it was still kind of fun to work with! I had to place Ryan in front of the light in some of these because it just was so dark.

The first image was my favorite. My boy is just so cute and handsome!

I let Ryan run and play.  When I called his name he knew to stop and pose though, haha.

I loved how cool the lighting looked here.

He had to show off his muscles!

We saw some geese!

Such a sweetheart!

Mother's Day

Hi and thank you for stopping by! I wanted to take a minute and share some of my personal photos from this month. I try to have my photo taken with my kids as much as possible and I believe it's important for me to have these keepsakes. People always tell me it's nice that I want to be in my own pictures with my kids. I do tons and tons of location scouting and sometimes I will dress up when we go out and hand my husband the camera so he can get a photo of our kids with me. They will only be little once and it's pretty special to me to have these.

 Since Mother's Day was in May I really tried to get as many photos as possible with my children. Some of these were taken on different days and at different locations. Being in these pictures means the world to me and I think that if I can encourage moms to be in photos then it's a nice feeling to be an inspiration to women! In honor of Mother's Day, my Mommy & Me mini sessions at $106 right now.
