Two adorable siblings- mini photoshoot in York, PA- at Stillmeadow Park

Hi Ya'll! I feel like it's been several weeks since I blogged. Life has gotten in the way of letting me sit and get some work done... can anyone relate to that? LOL. Today I'm showing you images that I took of just a quick mini session with my own children a few days ago in York, Pa. I take so many photos of them- like you have no idea. When I have some down time from my business, I practice on my kids. My husband complains about the number of pictures which I take it because it takes up so much computer storage, but all that to say, if you feel like you see pictures of my kids of Facebook a lot, just remember that I have more that I don't show anyone just sitting on my computer hard drive, haha. I will hopefully post a few from the York Fair, if I ever get around to finishing those edits....someday...

So I feel like getting a little emotional in my post today because as you know, I do take lots and lots of pictures. People ask me all the time, "how do you get them to cooperate?" "how do you get them to smile?" "where do you buy their clothes?" And I know sometimes they are thinking in their heads, "Wow, these picture must look like that because you have a nice camera"- not true- all my cameras have been several years old. When I bought my first camera four years ago I had no clue as to what to do with it. My oldest certainly did not appreciate getting her photo taken on a daily basis. I have just developed an appreciation for the art over the years and made this profession of mine really like my job, because it is like- my job! We don't have the nicest house, or car, but I decided a long time ago that when we do someday get a nice house, I will have beautiful art to display and this hobby and job of mine is what makes me happy. I enjoy taking my camera with me as we go on walks. I love sunsets! I love photography. I love all of the technical aspects of making a beautiful pictures. I don't have a lot of childhood memories with my parents and I strongly feel that because I don't have lots and lots of memories to draw on, that want to capture all the memories with own children. I, as their mother, want to remember their tiny faces and hands and smiles...and if I keep typing all this sappy stuff I'll end up crying. So. as I was saying- about our own pictures- I LOVE looking for clothing options for the kids. Doing our own family photos has really become kind of exciting to me because I like coordinating the clothes and looking for gorgeous light. As a family it is kind of what we do on a typical evening.

Anyway, moving along- I have just a few of Sophia and Ryan to show you. These kids are so special to me. We all have our own family issues but I tell ya, seeing these smiles definitely puts me in a great mood because I remember everything about the photo shoot.

Prior to this shot, I was asking them to look at me and smile, and Sophia was so serious, as opposed to Ryan who basically smiles the entire time unless he is trying to run away! To help them, I just asked Soph to talk to him. He was so excited about something he saw over in the trees. I loved the moment I captured because I remember that she was trying to tell him something funny.

And Sophia- who told her to grow up?

Mr. Ryan I adore you. Seriously.

And that's it, guys!

Two sisters and their tea set!

Good afternoon and thank you for stopping by! Today I have a special session to show you. This was my first themed shoot and it was a lot of fun to once again work with my friend Chrissie. She asked me if we could have a session just with her daughters together! Grace is the big sister and Savannah just turned one in July. I know Chrissie and her family from the Mom's group she and I are both in- MOMS Club of York!

The theme of this photo shoot was a tea party, complete with a vintage quilt for Chrissie's girls to sit on and a lovely pink tea set. She purchased those adorable dresses to coordinate with the set up. I just love these images and was excited to try something unique. This first picture is so perfect; Grace sipping her tea and Savannah looking so sweet. Following the first image you will get to see Grace pour her tea. So cute!

And of course, who could resist snapping one when they were looking at their Mama. I loved this one!

I thought this one was perfect because they were looking my direction.

Savannah looked so adorable as always so I photographed her for a bit.

After tea time was finished, we set up under a willow tree. Perfection!!

I always try to provide parents with some children's portraits in their gallery. I thought these were lovely!

There you have it! Some lovely images for Mom & Dad!

Thank you for booking with me Chrissie!

Kerry- Headshot session in York, Pennsylvania, at Farquar Park

Today I am so excited to show you some head shots that I took a few weeks ago! I specialize in photographing children and families, but this session was a bit different, in a good way! Several weeks ago my family met up with a pretty gal named Kerry! Kerry is one of my husband's (many) cousins! She and her husband Tom were visiting their families last month so they were up north for a little bit when she asked us if we could meet her for lunch. The day of our lunch date I took Kerry to a park where I did some head shots of her. It was fun! I am always thinking of ways to improve my techniques and really wanted to work with an adult (they won't run away like kids will, Haha!) This was a good opportunity to work one on one with a client and nail down some lighting and posing techniques.

For the photo shoot we went to Farquar Park in York city and the weather was so amazing. It wasn't long before I saw some nice light and stood Kerry in those spots. I think she and I were pretty happy with our arrangement, too, and as you can tell by the photos, Kerry is super sweet and adorable! I think that I captured her spirit fairly well It's quite obvious she's just perfect and loves the camera!

The park has this nice stone wall and I thought it would look really cute to as a spot for Kerry to sit.

Thank you so much for your time, Kerry! And if you're ever in need of updated pictures, send me a message! It was great seeing that day and we hope you visit again!!

Meet Katie: Two year old girl session- York, PA Children's Photographer at a Wildflower field

We are getting packed for the beach so I am working a little bit today on some things before we head out to the ocean in the morning. It sure does seem like there are so many things that need to be done but I'm devoted to my work and fortunately for me, I get to once again revisit these adorable pictures. Not a bad gig for me, right? Today I have a set of gorgeous images from a shoot that I did in July to show you all! This summer I did a series of sessions at The Wildflower field in Lititz PA, and while I typically meet clients in York, Pennsylvania, I will from time to time travel to locations such as this fabulous place if they are within reasonable driving distance! One of the clients who met me at this flower field last month was my friend Sarah! She and I met through MOMS Club of York, here in our town. My post today is featuring Sarah's little girl, Katie. Katie is two years old, and growing so fast just like her big brothers, Hunter and Ryan! It's exciting to be able to provide these images for Sarah.

I present to you, Miss. Katie! I always try to include one close up portrait of my clients! I think we nailed it!

I think she loved the flowers; It was obvious to all of us! Haha!

I knew that as soon as I edited the photo below, it would be added to the gallery of images on my website. How stunning!! You just cannot recreate this shot!

I will always take the opportunity to take a portrait in front of a sunset!! And it warms my heart that Katie is so happy. I absolutely LOVE this! We kept making her giggle! What a beautiful photo to add to her Mommy's gallery.

Well I hope that you loved my pictures today and will stop back to see my future posts! I had a blast working with Sarah and her family! If you would like more information about scheduling a session with me, I'd be more than happy to reply to your message which you can send through my CONTACT/ BOOK A SESSION page. Mini sessions begin at $125 + tax and full sessions for families begin at $250!  There is a $10% coupon applied for returning clients for full one hour sessions, booked by September. Thank you for stopping by!! ~ Angela

Golden hour children's session in a flower field- Lititz, PA

Golden hour children's session

When you see a stunning location such as this field in Lititz, PA, you want to tell everyone about it! If you are photographer or just someone with an artistic eye, chances are good that you will fall in love with this spot. Lots of people heard about this Lancaster County gem because whenever we went to it, tons of people were there! While I typically meet my clients in York, PA, I was anxious to take as many pictures at this field as I could. Lancaster County is truly just amazing!! I am so pleased to show you some images today that I took when the flowers were still blooming. Since I went there so much to photograph my children, don't miss the blog posts below as well, where I have them featured :) Any time I get to promote my beautiful babies, I will!

I went to the Wildflower field at least six times and each time I went, I just felt like there were so many artistic opportunities, so with that in mind, I opened my schedule to accept some models. Children are my favorite subjects, so when Allison offered to let me photograph her daughter, Lacey, I was just so thrilled for the chance make some gorgeous images! It's just so dreamy and perfect there! Add a beautiful subject along with the golden light and flowers and you have a recipe for stunning photos. Lacey is going to be three this month and I know her Mommy through York's chapter of MOMS Club of York. And this isn't the first time I've had Lacey in front of my lens! Last year Allison hired me to photograph her family. We had our session at Stillmeadow Park in York, PA. One shot from that session which I adore is with Lacey and her Daddy :)

Now on to all the dreamy pictures that I took of Lacey, haha! I know I talk too much! Writing all of this out actually takes longer to type than loading the images on my website images does. Take a look at Princess Lacey!

Lacey loved running through the flowers!

If possible, I always ask Mom or Dad to jump in for a shot. Here is Princess Lacey and her Mommy :)
